INTENT, IMPLEMENTATION & IMPACT

What are the Aims of our Green Park Careers Curriculum?

We want all our pupils to experience a careers curriculum that establishes a growing knowledge and awareness of the world and how, as young people, they can contribute. It will prepare pupils for Post 16 transition and life beyond Green Park. This includes delivering a breadth of opportunities and experiences that our pupils can use to build foundations for their future pathways.  We will work alongside our pupils to advocate their hopes and aspirations for the future beyond Green Park and overcome any barriers, so they achieve their full potential.

Intent

What will our pupils experience throughout their Careers curriculum at Green Park?

  • Access to careers learning from Year 7 onwards - learning that is linked through their curriculum provision and explicitly delivered lessons.

  • A careers curriculum that has contributions and feedback from pupils, their families, school staff and external agencies.

  • Engagement with many different employers throughout Year 7 to Year 11 in variety of formats such as assemblies, visits, talks, project work, careers events

  • Unbiased careers advice and support from a Connexions advisor.

  • Working with pupils and their families as they prepare for their future and for life after Green Park.

  • Staff who are committed to and passionate about helping pupils develop and make key decisions which prepare them for their future pathways.

Why do we want this?

  • We want our pupils to know their skills and strengths; know what they are good at and what they find hard and empower them.

  • We want our pupils to work towards independent living, appropriate to their individual needs.

  • We want our pupils to have hope and optimism, adaptability, and resilience.

  • We want our pupils to have access to, and engagement in, work in all its forms.

  • We want our pupils to learn and make progress so they can thrive and experience success in their future pathways.

  • We want our pupils to pursue and value their own wellbeing and happiness.

Implementation:

How will we deliver this?

  • Meaningful encounters with the World of Work (WOW).

  • Careers fairs and skills workshops from local employers.

Impact:
